The list of 71 most beautiful streets in the world voted by the American architecture magazine Architectural Digest was recently announced, including a beautiful street in Hoi An.

The beautiful streets on the list are not simply places for tourists to walk but also places for great experiences. They are the streets that take us back to the past, many centuries ago, or the shops and heritages on both sides…

Some streets are notable for their stunning natural features, too, such as the cherry blossom tunnel in Bonn, Germany, which blooms for a few short weeks each spring. Others, like the Champs-Élysées in Paris, balance stunning architecture with perfectly manicured greenery – perfect for a stroll whether or not you plan to visit the many luxury brands and restaurants that line the avenue…

Ranked 45th on the list is Tran Phu Street, Hoi An. Architectural Digest magazine wrote: “Hoi An, a thriving and bustling trading port from the 15th to the 19th centuries, is a popular destination for many tourists for many reasons, the most notable of which is the monthly lantern festival held on Tran Phu Street. The festival celebrates the full moon and involves lighting a candle and burning it inside a brightly colored paper lantern. People on Tran Phu Street have been doing this for centuries.”

Tran Phu Street, in Minh Anh Ward, is about 1 km long, one end connects Hoang Dieu Street, the other end is the Japanese Covered Bridge. This is a street located in the center of Hoi An ancient town, in the French period it was called Rue du Pont Japonnais, meaning Japanese Bridge Street. Ancient architectural works on Tran Phu Street include the Assembly Halls of Guangdong, Fujian, Quynh Phu, Trieu Chau; Quan Cong Temple, Hoi An Museum of History and Culture, Sa Huynh Culture Museum… On this street there are also famous corners with beautiful photo backgrounds such as the intersection of Tran Phu – Tran Quy Cap, Tran Phu – Le Loi…

In Southeast Asia, the list of 71 most beautiful streets also includes Singapore with the colorful Koon Seng Street built in the 1920s; Soi Romanee famous for its Sino-Portuguese architecture in Phuket, Thailand.
